Karen Miller-Hudson - Customer Service Manager
Karen joined the UDA administrative staff in the fall of 2009. She has an extensive background in the dance world, beginning with her own dance training in 1970. Her training began at Karen’s School of Dance where she studied ballet, tap and jazz. She performed with the Murray Starlettes for several years, where the emphasis was tap and jazz. Karen graduated locally from Alta High School, where she was an active member and officer of both the drill team and the dance company. She loved teaching dance and even opened her own studio in the basement of her parent’s home at the age of 14! Karen was also the drill team advisor for the Alta High School Las Scelles for six years, worked for Murray Community, has judged and has choreographed for local pageants. Ms. Hudson continued teaching for 29 years, then closing her dance studio to focus more attention on her family and raising her three children.
Bev Evans - Competitive Program Admin Manager
Bev has been involved with UDA's Company program from its beginning with two of her daughters as UDA company team members. Bev joined the UDA staff in July of 2008 as Company Coordinator, and this year she is also joining the administrative staff providing customer service for UDA on Fridays. She loves watching UDA grow and become better each year. As a college student, Bev danced with the BYU Folk dancers as she successfully completed a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. She has used those teaching skills many times in raising her seven children! Bev and her family have lived in Switzerland, Iowa, Colorado, and now back in Utah. All seven of her children have danced; four of them at Utah Dance Artists. She and her husband attended East High School in Salt Lake City and were high school sweethearts. Bev has been a legal secretary and loves to organize "anything". She and her family LOVE being outdoors and spend many hours hiking, jeeping, camping, rock climbing, water skiing and just being together. Family is where it's at for Bev!
Kathy Newbold - Administrative Assistant
Kathleen Newbold was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, and moved to Utah in 1991. As a child in California she enjoyed the years she took dance classes; they were filled with fond and pleasant memories. Kathy brings 20 years of administrative experience to UDA, as well as several years of small business ownership. Kathy enjoys helping others and being a part of a great group of individuals at Utah Dance Artists.
Brenda Christensen - Bookkeeper
Brenda joined the UDA Adminstrative staff in 2010. She was born in Utah but was raised in Southern California where she enjoyed growing up by the beach. She moved to Utah to attend school and has been here ever since. She loves the change of seasons and the beautiful mountains that Utah has to offer. She attended the University of Utah and brings over 20 years of accounting experience to UDA. She enjoys being part of a pristine dance studio and being around the great dancers at UDA and working with passionate people who are committed to the success of UDA. She is the mother of two great boys. Her oldest is currently serving a mission in Brazil and her youngest is a Senior in high school. She is very happy to be a part of the UDA family.
