The final deadline for all Dance Scholar Award program entries is Monday, April 30th, 2012.

The UDA Dance Scholar Award Program is offered annually to all UDA students ages 6 through 18. This program should take a full dance session to plan and complete. The UDA Dance Scholar Award Program is designed to expand the dancer's appreciation for dance as a visual art. Students who complete this program receive special recognition and an award trophy at the end of the year.

  • Write report on 3 performances. 2 must be LIVE, and the third can be DVD or live.   Reports must include description and comments on PERFORMERS, TECHNIQUE, COSTUMES, STAGING and overall impression of the performance. (Suggestions include Ballet West, Odyssey Dance Theatre, Ririe Woodbury, University of Utah, or any Broadway touring show which includes dance.)

  • Choose a dance artists (performer or choreographer) to study and write about. Report must include information about the life of the artists, their accomplishments and achievements in their performance art along with their contribution to the arts.

  • Please compile information in a neat and artistic fashion. DEADLINE - April 30th, 2012

  • Dancers will be recognized at the Student Appreciation Celebration.

UDA will post many of the U of U Fine Arts Performances on our studio bulletin board; highlighting dance performance schedules in yellow. Various other community performances will also be posted throughout the session for your convenience.
