Emily Liu

Ballet - Pointe

Emily Liu is from the Bay Area, California. She has been dancing for 11 years; starting at the age of ten with jazz, hip hop, break dance, and modern. It wasn't until later she turned her passion towards classical ballet. Ms. Liu trained under Tina Kay Bohnstedt and Viktor Kabaniaev. While training, she was featured in Diablo Ballet's former director Nikolai Kabaniaev's, The Magic Toy Store. She has also performed in Viktor Kabaniaev's White Light in Celebrate Dance 2006, Los Angeles. Ms. Liu expanded her ballet education by attending various summer programs around the U.S. on scholarships. She has also competed in the Youth America Grand Prix, where she received her contract with Ballet West II.

Upon moving to Salt Lake, Ms. Liu danced with Ballet West for two years. She has performed in Ben Stevenson's Dracula, William Christensen's The Nutcracker, and Anna Marie Holmes's Don Quixote. She has also been featured in Ballet West II productions including Tom Ruud's Mobile, Pamela Robinson-Harris's and Peggy Dolkas's Aladdin and The Little Mermaid.
