About Sophia

Sophia Heiner


Sophia is a dancer, performer, and teaching artist from Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up training in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, musical theater, and hip hop with The Principal Company under the direction of Ashley Autry. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Marymount Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in Business in 2020.

She has trained at numerous intensive programs including Springboard Danse Montreal, Arts Umbrella Dance, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Nuova Officina Della Danza, Ballet West, Billie Hanne, GagaLab, Salt Contemporary Dance, and more. Sophia’s choreography has been featured at Marymount Manhattan College, various arts festivals, and studio showcases on groups and soloists. Sophia has worked with choreographers in Montreal, Salt Lake City, New York, Torino, and Berlin, including Maxine Doyle, Andrea Miller, Earl Mosely, Loni Landon, Jason Mabana, Alessio Silvestrin, Billie Hanne, Jenn Freeman, Sonya Tayeh, Angelica Stiskin, and more. Sophia has served as part-time faculty in the dance departments at Creative Arts Academy, Premier Dance Academy, Vision Dance and Learning Center, and The Winner School.

She is a dedicated student of Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, Ilan Lev Method, and Gaga Movement Language and enjoys teaching dancers body awareness, balance, strength, and efficiency through anatomical awareness. Sophia is a mat Pilates instructor certified by The Kane School. Sophia’s Pilates sessions facilitate strength, stability, mobility, and mindful movement. Sophia aims to cultivate creativity, trust, confidence, and inspiration within her students.
