Summer classes are mandatory for the STARS competitive team dancers. Summer classes help dancers maintain flexibility, strength, and technique over the two-month summer break.

• STARS minimum class requirements - One class twice per week for a total of 8 classes in July. Make-up class options are available to work around summer travel/event schedules.
• Required classes to choose from: ballet technique, jazz technique, turns & leaps or strength & conditioning.
• Minimum class tuition $112 (8 hours of class, twice per week)
• Please refer to the UDA Summer Dance information to see the summer classes that are available for your dancer.

Dancers must add the required classes to their weekly schedule:

• STARS Competition Team Rehearsal 1 hour
• Required UDA classes for STARS Competitive team
  • Kindergarteners on a Competitive Team
    • Must take one ballet class - 1 ballet technique (One 1 hour weekly class - the designated Tuesday STARS class) The ballet technique class will be on Tuesdays
    • Must take one jazz/tap recital class (One 1 hour weekly class)
    • Choice of one additional class - ballet recital, STARS Performance Program Jazz and/or Ballet Team, hip hop recital or an additional combo recital class
      • *STARS Performance Rehearsal – Ballet, Jazz or Both *one genre of STARS Performance will qualify as the second technique class to participate on the competition team
      • **Must be registered in the STARS Performance Program to select a rehearsal as the required class for the Competitive team. STARS Performance Program Commitment Form 2025
  • Petite, Mini and Junior Competitive Teams
    • Must take two ballet classes - Choose from the option to either take 2 ballet technique classes OR take 1 ballet technique (the designated Tuesday STARS class) and a ballet recital class (performs in the UDA recital). (Two - 1 hour weekly classes, Juniors- Two 1.5 hour weekly classes). The STARS ballet technique class will be on Tuesdays.
    • Must take two jazz recital or turns & leaps classes. Choose from the options to either take 1 jazz recital class, 1 turns/leaps class (non-recital) or 1 STARS Performance Program Ballet and/or Jazz Rehearsal(Petites & Minis TWO 2 hour weekly classes – Juniors- TWO 1/1.5 hour weekly classes unless STARS Performance rehearsal is selected which is 1 hour). Jazz Technique and some ballet classes are recital classes that require additional costumes for the UDA recital.
      • *STARS Performance Rehearsal – Ballet, Jazz or Both *one genre of STARS Performance will qualify as the second technique class to participate on the competition team

• This equates to 4 minimum required hours per week for Kindergarteners and 5 minimum required hours per week for Petite and Mini STARS, & 6.5 minimum required hours per week for Junior STARS. Dancers that participate in two performance team genres add 1 more required hour. Dancers must be accepted to the STARS performance team in order to register for a STARS Performance Team Jazz or Ballet Rehearsal.
• Additional Saturday rehearsals may be added to the schedule during competition season

• UDA Competition Makeup and Earrings: $70-$80 - Due November 1st
• Team Jacket: $75-$85 – charged on September 1, 2025 with September tuition.
• Contingency Fee: $30 – the contingency fee is collected in one payment due September 1st. *The contingency fund covers any unexpected costs related to your dancer’s program. Money not used during the year will be credited back to your UDA account on May 1st. Dancers participating in both the STARS Competitive and Performance programs will have two contingency fees of $30.

• UDA monthly tuition and STARS program fees are both due on the first business day of each month from September-May.
• The cost of the monthly tuition is figured by using the UDA Tuition Scale
• August and June are half months and paid together as a full-month tuition when registering for fall classes
• Remaining Costume Balance: charged on February 1, 2026 with February tuition. All remaining costume balances will be charged as this time.

• Recital Fee: $120 - charged on October 1st with October tuition. This fee covers recital participation, four complimentary tickets and professional HD files of all UDA end - year performances.
• Recital Costume Deposit: $40 – charged on December 1, 2025 with December tuition. A $40 costume deposit will be charged per class participating in recital
• Remaining Recital Costume Balance: charged on February 1, 2026 with February tuition. All remaining costume balances will be charged at this time.

The following are mandatory dates for ALL STARS dancers:

• Date: Tuesday, August 12, 2025 - New team meeting and placement classes
• Date: August, 2025 – Competition Choreography - TBA
• Date: September, 2025 – STARS Photo Shoot - TBA
• ***Additional dates added as necessary

• Charged at the time choreography is learned
• Fee split between all dancers who participate
• If the choreographer adds a prop to the routine, this cost will also be divided among all participating dancers

• Mandatory STARS Photo Shoot: September, 2025 - TBA
• All dancers are required to purchase their team photos and be photographed individually.
• *specific photo times and packages TBA

In addition to the required technical classes for STARS dancers, dancers may also consider adding the following classes for optimal technical training:

• STARS Performance Program
  • Participants in Kindergarten through 6th grade can choose to participate in one performance genre (either ballet or jazz) or take part in both!
  • The STARS Performance Program Fee includes holiday and spring performance participation
  • *Additional program fee and tuition for rehearsals.

*When selecting additional fall session classes, STARS dancers may NOT add additional classes besides ballet technique on Tuesdays due to possible extended rehearsals, workshops, or performances taking place on this day. The ballet technique class will be on Tuesdays, coinciding with their STARS rehearsals.

• $210 cancellation fee
• Pay all choreography fees, costume fees, and any paid competition and convention fees
• No refund on any past paid fees

JANUARY - MAY

• $250 cancellation fee
• Pay all choreography fees, costume fees, and any paid competition and convention fees
