UDA Programs
Conservatory Ballet Program
UDA Conservatory Ballet Competitive Program is an optional, add-on program, for Conservatory dancers in the 6th – 12th grades who wish to compete in the genre of ballet and intensify their ballet study with pre-professional training. Dancers hoping to attend university dance auditions and/or pre-professional programs in ballet, jazz, musical theater, or contemporary/modern are strongly advised to audition. Participating dancers are grouped according to ability level with age consideration, as opposed to being grouped by their team participation
Conservatory Program
UDA Conservatory Competitive Program is a pre-professional competitive program for dancers in 2nd - 12th grade seeking a competitive team with a high level of commitment. Through participation, dancers will intensify their training to result in a higher level of technique, performance and artistry; providing the education and experience needed to continue dance in higher education or a professional career. Conservatory teams receive instruction in classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap and ballroom.
Varsity Program
UDA Varsity Competitive Program is a competitive program for dancers in 1st - 12th grade seeking a competitive team with a moderate level of commitment. Through participation, dancers will intensify their training to result in a higher level of technique, performance, and artistry; providing the experience and training needed for dancers to audition for high school and college dance teams and continue dance in higher education. Varsity is divided into five teams, each receiving instruction in classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, acro and tumbling.
Varsity Ballet Program
UDA Varsity Ballet Competitive Program is an optional, add-on program, for dancers in the 6th – 12th grades who wish to compete in the genre of ballet and intensify their ballet study with pre-professional training. Dancers do not need to be on a Varsity team to add the Varsity Ballet program to their dance education. An audition is required. Dancers hoping to attend university dance auditions and/or pre-professional programs in ballet, jazz, musical theater, or contemporary/modern are strongly advised to audition. Participating dancers are grouped according to ability level with age consideration.
ELITES Program
UDA ELITES Performance Program is a performance program for dancers in the 7th – 12th grade. Those interested should have a minimum of 3 years of technical dance training. Using the community as their stage, dancers have the opportunity to perform and grow artistically in the genres of ballet, jazz, hip hop, musical theater and contemporary, in a non-competitive environment. Through participation, ELITES dancers cultivate important life skills in the areas of respect, responsibility and accountability to self and others as a contributing dance team member. Dancers receive an invitation to ELITES from the director after spring evaluations at UDA. Dancers new to UDA, will have the opportunity to attend an evaluation class which will allow the director to meet new dancers and review their training.
ELITES Competitive
UDA ELITES Competitive Team is a competitive program for dancers in 7th - 12th grade seeking a competitive team with an introductory level of commitment. This program is an optional add-on program for ELITES dancers who wish to compete in genres such as jazz, musical theater, lyrical jazz or contemporary and intensify their performance study with additional experience on stage through a competition environment. Participating dancers are grouped according to ability level with age consideration, as opposed to being grouped by team participation.
STARS Program
UDA STARS Performance Program is a performance program for dancers in Kindergarten – 6th grade. Using the community as their stage, dancers have the opportunity to perform and grow artistically in the genres of ballet and jazz, in a non-competitive environment. Through participation, STARS dancers cultivate important life skills in areas of respect, responsibility and accountability, to self and others, as a contributing dance team member. STARS is divided into age groups based on both age consideration and dance experience. Participants in Kindergarten through 6th grade can choose to participate in one performance genre (either ballet or jazz) or take part in both!
STARS Competitive
UDA STARS Competitive Teams is a competitive program for dancers in Kindergarten – 6th grade seeking a competitive team with an introductory level of commitment. This program is an optional add-on program for STARS dancers who wish to compete in the genre of jazz/musical theater/lyrical jazz and intensify their performance study with additional experience on stage through a competition environment. Participating dancers are grouped according to ability level with age consideration, as opposed to being grouped by team participation.
