UDA HIGH SCHOOL Competitive Dance Team
The High School Dance Team Competitive Program is for dancers in the 9th – 12th grades who wish to compete in the genre of Jazz and Contemporary and intensify their training in the areas of turns, leaps, tricks and additional genres through master class opportunities to advance their level of education. Dancers on high school dance and drill teams have an intense training schedule that will supplement the UDA program training. Consideration will be given to the demanding schedules of the high school programs when setting rehearsals, choreography, and competition dates
Dancers who are on a high school drill team or dance company may join the program and do not need to be on a Varsity or Conservatory team to participate in the program.
2025-2026 YEARLY PROGRAM FEE: $752
Prorated to 8 monthly payments of $94 from October – May
The Program Fee covers twenty 90-minute rehearsals, competition fees for two routines at three local competitions, critique, costumes and director and manager fees.
The STARS Program Fee does not include choreography, makeup, earrings, shoes and tights needed for competition.

Follow these steps to enroll in the High School Competitive Dance Team for the 2025-2026 season:
- Fill out the High School Team Commitment and Agreement Form -
- Submit the non-refundable commitment fee $20
- Once you have completed steps 1 & 2, High School Team dancers may register for fall classes during Program Registration beginning Wednesday, May 20, 2025.
- UDA Program Registration will take place from May 13-19, 2025
- UDA Member Registration begins May 20, 2025
- The deadline to Register for High School Team is Tuesday, September 15th, 2025
Mandatory Meetings
Held at the South Jordan Studio Location
PARENT INFORMATION MEETING: Monday, August 25, 2025 - 8:00 pm
- Meeting is following the High School Technique Combo Class that Monday.
- This meeting will provide information about the High School Competitive Dance Program and parents will have the opportunity to meet the program director and have their questions answered.
PARENT AND DANCER NEW TEAM MEETING: Tuesday, October 6, 2025 - Time TBA
- This meeting will jump-start the year by providing important yearly information and dates that must be added to the calendar.
Additional Information
Classes - Choreography - Fees - Etc
Rehearsal and Required Class Times: Mondays 6:30-9:30pm - South Jordan studio
Dancers who participate must attend all scheduled rehearsals. Rehearsal dates will be selected with consideration to the high school drill and dance company schedules.
Dancers must add the following additional classes their weekly schedule:
- High School Team Rehearsal - 1.5 hours *included in the monthly program fee **Rehearsals begin in October
- High School Team Technique Combo Class - 1.5 hours *not included in the monthly program fee and will add an additional 1.5 hours on the UDA tuition scale in the amount of $94 per month.
- This class will have guest instruction 1-2 times monthly. Some premium instruction will have a small fee.
- Dancers enrolled in the weekly class have priority in the master classes.
- The High School Technique Combo Class is not exclusive to the dancers on the competitive team. It is open to any high school dance company or drill team member.
Class placement based on directors discretion:
- 1.5 hour - ballet technique class with the Varsity or Conservatory Teen or Senior Teams
- 1.5 hour - turns and leaps class with the Varsity or Conservatory Teen or Senior Teams
- Add-on ballet classes are for dancers in the 6th – 12th who wish to intensify their ballet training.
- Placement in these additional classes is done by a dancer’s individual dance level – not according to the team they are on. Placements held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at the Draper studio.
- Dancers may choose to add one or all available classes. Each class added is billed as additional hours on the UDA Tuition Scale.
- Add on Ballet Options:
- Ballet Intensive *adds 1.5 hours
- Pre Pointe or Pointe Technique adds 1 hour (Must be enrolled in a minimum of 2 ballet classes per week to have a pointe class added to a dancer’s schedule)
- Varsity Ballet Competitive Program *additional program fee – Auditions held on Monday, May 19, 2025. Please refer to the program information for Varsity Ballet.

- Cost: $175-$400 total for 2 routines
- Split in 2 charges between October and November
- The required technique class is 1.5 hours which is $94 in monthly tuition from September – May.
- June is a ½ month and paid as a non-refundable deposit upon registering for Fall 2025 – Spring 2026 classes.
- Monthly tuition is due on the first business day of each month, along with the High School Team Monthly Program Fee which begins October 1st.
- A $35 non-refundable membership fee is applied to all UDA students at registration.
- The cost of monthly tuition is figured by using the UDA SOUTH JORDAN Tuition Scale.
- One Time Choreography Fee: A one-time choreography fee will be charged at the time competition choreography is learned for two routines.. This fee is split between all dancers who participate. *If the choreographer adds a prop to the routine, this cost will also be divided among all participating dancers.
- UDA Competition Makeup and Earrings: Dancers may supply their own stage makeup and eye lashes. Lipstick and earrings may be required for purchase depending on costuming.
- Shoes and Tights: Ordered by UDA. Due December 1st - not included in program fee
- Contingency Fund: $30 - the contingency fee is due October 1st *the contingency fund covers any unexpected costs related to your dancer’s program. Money not used during the year will be credited back to your UDA account on May 1st
