Johnette was born and raised in the college town of Rexburg, Idaho, home of BYU Idaho, formerly known as Ricks College. She was a Vikadette, a member of their college drill team, where she served as Vice President and was a member of their touring team. In high school, she loved cheerleading, dancing and being part of many clubs and organizations.
After college, Johnette ventured to Salt Lake City where she now resides with her husband. She has two darling daughters, both who are a part of the UDA staff and family. She has four beautiful grandchildren, whom she adores, three of them dance at UDA and they love it!
Johnette was co-owner of Dance Image Productions, a Salt Lake City dance studio where she first met Brooke Maxwell as a teenager, and soon Brooke became one of the main ballet instructors.
Currently, a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines, a job she absolutely loves, flying for over 28 years. One of her favorite routes is working the Hawaii trips each month. She is also serving on the Corporate and Community Development Board at Primary Children’s Hospital, working with non-profit organizations for over 39 years.
