Joey Dowling-Fakhrieh

Current NYCDA faculty member, Joey toured with Mariah Carey on her Butterfly World Tour and performed at The Radio City Music Hall as a Rockette! Joey appeared on Broadway as ‘Elaine’ in Sweet Charity, Dance of the Vampires, In The Heights, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Mambo Kings and more! Joey was in the film versions of Chicago, The Producers and Rock of Ages. Her TV credits include So You Think You Can Dance as a Choreographer, Smash, MTV Video Music Awards, VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards, Sex and the City and Winter’s Tale. Joey was also in numerous TV commercials, most notably for Nike, Old Navy, Adidas and Mercedes Benz.

Joey served as the Associate Choreographer for the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit “In The Heights,” as well as the Encore Summer Series, The Wiz at City Center. She is also the founder and owner of the dance wear company Jo+Jax which has been the leader in dance wear for over 10 years!
