Thayne Jasperson
Guest Choreographer - Jazz Camp Teacher
UDA is excited to welcome back Thayne, who was formerly our advanced jazz teacher and company specialist (2006-2008), as a guest instructor. Thayne was most recently seen on Broadway in Matilda and in Newsies as Darcy. Thayne has also tourned nationally with West Side Story (1st National Tour) and Oz as the Scarecrow. In 2008, Thayne was a top 20 finalist on the hit TV show "So You Think You Can Dance." He also performed with their national tour.
Thayne Jasperson danced professionally with Odyssey Dance Theatre for six years. His film credits include Disney’s High School Musicals 1 and 2, Smash, MTV's "The American Mall" and "SYTYCD." Thayne has performed on stages in Europe, Central America, New York City and several states in the U.S. Favorite roles include: Ren in Footloose, Tarzan in Tarzan, Mungo Jerrie in Cats, Andy Lee in 42nd Street, Courier in 1776, Toulouse Lautrec in Odyssey’s Moulin Rouge and George Bailey in ODT’s It’s a Wonderful Life. He has worked with renowned choreographers such as Dee Caspary, Alex Magno, Liz Imperio, Mandy Moore, Kenny Ortega, Ronen Koresh, Tony Powell and Ryan Francois.
