Lauren
Varsity Jr Team Director - Jazz - Turns & Leaps
Lauren is the Director of the Junior Varsity Team here at Utah Dance Artists. Beginning at the age of three she trained at a few competitive studios around the Salt Lake Valley in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop. At the ages of 13 and 14, she accepted scholarship offers to train with both Houston Ballet in Texas, and the School of American Ballet in New York. She danced on the Corner Canyon Dance Company during her high school years, where she was given the responsibility to choreograph multiple routines, and held the office of Vice President. Upon graduating high school, Lauren made the Utah Valley University Dance Team - where she won a national title. Following her season at UVU, she decided to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in California. After returning home she accepted the opportunity to be an Assistant Coach for the Corner Canyon Drill Team. Lauren received her Bachelor's Degree in Family Science.
Throughout her years, Lauren has learned that dance is so much more than the physical and artistry aspects. She is very passionate about teaching her dancers vital life lessons both in the studio and outside. She is influential in helping her students learn what it looks like to put in the dedication necessary to improve, to actively listen, to respect their teachers, and maintain unity within their team.
