About Zak

Zak Benson

Hip Hop

Zak has been dancing since the age of two. At a young age he discovered his passion for Hip Hop. Whether it’s popping, locking or dropping he is a full blown fanatic. At the age of 10, Zak moved to Columbia, Missouri where he performed at Columbia’s School of Performing Arts. After returning to Utah in his high school years, he created and co-piloted a competitive hip hop team named Alliance Dance Crew. Together they performed in Disneyland, and several other locations around the Salt Lake area. He graduated high school as a captain of his school dance program with letters in dance, basketball, soccer, volleyball and cross country. Zak had the privilege of living in Europe where he voluntarily taught hip hop classes to the local residents. Zak currently choreographs for several teams and studios in Utah, teaching a wide range of students from preschool level classes to master level classes.

Zakary attended American Heritage of South Jordan and graduated with honors in the spring of 2019. Quickly after graduation he prepared himself to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Poland. He speaks fluently in the Polish language and developed a deep love for the Slovak people and their cultures. Since returning home from his mission, Zak has been attending Utah Valley University, preparing for a future career in the dental field.

Along with dance, Zak is a soccer player, upcoming wedding photographer and most of all a Disney freak. Vacations to Disney World are a yearly tradition. Zakary loves being around kids. Their energy brings him great joy and he loves being a part of their development in dance.
