Mini Program Information
Varsity Minis
For Dancers in the 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades
YEARLY PROGRAM FEE: $1150
Amortized over 10 months: $115 monthly from July – April
*due on the 1st business day of the month, along with UDA tuition
The Monthly Varsity Program Fee covers competition fees for 4 competitions, choreography of two routines, two costumes, critique, end of year concert, director, and manager fees.
The Monthly Varsity Program Fee does not cover tuition, summer intensive, team photos, team warmups, travel bag, makeup, earrings, shoes and tights needed for competition.
AUDITION INFORMATION FOR 2023-2024
- If a dancer’s program participation is exclusive to one program, they should indicate their preference on the audition form (Conservatory or Varsity) and will be considered for that program only.
Trial Classes
Minis Pre-Audition Classes
Wednesdays, April 12th and May 3rd, 2023
- Mini Varsity Ballet – 6:00-7:00 pm
- Mini Varsity Jazz – 7:00-8:00 pm
- In order for dancers to consider the level of the Varsity program, four Varsity Mini technique classes will be offered.
- The dress code for ballet is a black leotard and pink tights and all black attire for jazz. The cost is $15 per class.
- Advanced registration is required.
Auditions – Mandatory Five Step Process
- 1. Fill out and submit the online audition form
- 2. Submit a $30 audition fee through the audition form link
- 3. Attend the mandatory Parent Information Meeting : Monday, May 8th, 2023 - 7:30 pm @ UDA Draper Studio
- 4. Bring a check to auditions dated May 24, 2023 - payable to Utah Dance Artists in the amount of $355 for the UDA Competitive Program Summer Intensive.
*This check also serves as a deposit. If your child does not make a team your check will be shredded and if your child makes the team, it will be cashed. If your child decides not to take their place on the team, after auditions, there will be no refund on this deposit. - 5. Attend auditions at Draper studio:

MINI TEAM MEETING for the 2023-24 TEAM and PARENTS
Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Draper studio
Time: 6:00 - 7:00 pm
*There are 2 mandatory meetings during the dance year.
- Cost: $355 - paid by check at auditions
- Date: Thursday, August 10 - Saturday, August 12, 2023
- Schedule: TBA
- Cost: $116.50 - charged August 1, 2023
- Dates: Four weeks: weeks of June 12, July 31, August 14 and August 21
- Required Classes: 2 ballet and 1 jazz technique each week (3 hours per week June), 2 ballet, 1 jazz and 1 choreography review each week (4 hours per week August)
*The summer technique class schedule will be available at the Parent Information Meeting on Monday, May 8th, 2023
- Varsity dancers may register for fall classes during Program Registration between Monday, June 12, 2023 and Wednesday, June 14, 2023
- The fall schedule, including the days/times of required technical classes, will be distributed at the Mandatory Parent Information Meeting on Monday, May 8, 2023.
- A $35 non-refundable basic membership fee is applied on May 23, 2023 to all returning UDA students. A $59 non-refundable premium membership fee is offered with additional benefits.
- The cost of the monthly tuition is figured by using the UDA Competitive Tuition Scale
- Weekly Varsity Mini class requirements:
- Two – 1 hour ballet technique classes
- One – 1 hour jazz technique classes
- One – 1 hour acro/tumbling class
- One – 45 minute hip hop class
- Two – 1 hour Varsity Mini choreography rehearsals
- Additional Saturday rehearsals may be added to the schedule during competition season
- This equates to 6.75 minimum hours per week for Varsity Minis, which is $209.25 in monthly tuition from September – May.
- June is a 1/2 month and paid as a non-refundable deposit when you register for Fall 2023 – Spring 2024 classes
- Monthly tuition is due on the first business day of each month, along with the Varsity Monthly Program Fee
- Ballet Intensive (3rd ballet class)
- Turns and Leaps Intensive (2nd jazz technique class)

- Mandatory team photos with Hello Dancer Photography
- September 15 & 16, 2023
- All team members are required to attend group photos and purchase a group photo
- Optional individual dance photography sessions will be offered. All dancers will be photographed individually regardless of the package chosen.
- "Starry Night" Performance Fee: $120 - charged with October tuition. *this fee provides four tickets to the Varsity year-end concert and HD files of all UDA end-of-year performances
- Contingency Fund: $100 - the contingency fee is collected in two payments: $50 due July 1st and $50 due August 1st. *the contingency fund covers any unexpected costs related to your dancer’s program. Money not used during the year will be credited back to your UDA account on May 1st
- UDA Company Jacket and Warn Up Collection: Due July 1st *if new to program * *every three years a new style of travel wear is purchased - this is year #2
- UDA Travel Bags: 3 options - Due July 1st *if new to UDA Competitive program
- UDA Competition Makeup and Earrings: $70-80 - Due November 1st *if new to program
- Shoes and Tights: not included in program fees – Due either November 1st or December 1st
- Optional Conventions: UDA Varsity dancers will have the opportunity to attend two-three dance conventions during the year – Cost is typically $200-$300 per dancer. These conventions are optional and are not included in your overall monthly fees.

Varsity Optional Routines

Varsity dancers will have the opportunity to compete additional dances at competition with dancers of a similar age and level. These dances are referred to as "optional routines".
OPTIONAL PARTICIPATION FEE: $520
Amortized over 8 months: $65 monthly from September – April
This fee covers rehearsals, costume, competition critique, 4 competition entrance fees, manager and director fees.
OPTIONAL CHOREOGRAPHY FEE:
A one-time choreography fee is charged when the dance is learned and split between all dancers who participate. If the choreographer adds a prop to the dance, this cost will also be divided between participating dancers.
OPTIONAL REHEARSALS:
Participating dancers must attend all scheduled rehearsals. There are between 16-18 optional rehearsals throughout the fall and winter months; averaging twice a month. The rehearsal schedule for all optional routines will be available at the first team meeting in June.
