Conservatory Dance Team- Competitive Program
Open to Conservatory Program Dancers 7th - 12th Grades
Dancers who are on a high school drill team or dance company may join the program with a private audition and do not need to be on a Conservatory team to participate in the program.
The Conservatory Dance Team Competitive Program is an optional, add-on program, for Conservatory dancers in the 7th – 12th grades who wish to compete in the genre of Jazz and intensify their training in the areas of turns, leaps, tricks and acro to advance their level of education in the collegiate dance team standards. The program is separated for competitive routines by age. Dancers considering Collegiate Dance Teams are strongly advised to add this program to their training. Dancers placed on a Conservatory team may add this program without an audition. Dancers who are on a high school drill team or dance company may join the program with a private audition and do not need to be on a Conservatory team to participate in the program.
YEARLY PROGRAM FEE: $544
Amortized over 8 months: $68 monthly (*paid on the 1st of the month from September - April)
This fee covers competition fees for two convention competitions, critique, costume fee and director and manager fees.
The Monthly Conservatory Program Fee does not cover: choreography, makeup, earrings, shoes and tights needed for competition. If dancers are on a high school drill or dance team and not on a Conservatory team, they will also need to cover their convention fees for the two weekend conventions in which the team will be competing.
Registration Information
Open to Conservatory Dancers 7TH - 12TH Grades
- 1. Fill out and submit the online registration form
- 2. Attend the mandatory Parent Information Meeting at the UDA Draper studio on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 5:30pm
- 3. Attend Comservatory AUDITIONS at the Draper studio for the dancer’s grade if the dancer would like to participate in both the Conservatory program and the Conservatory Dance Team.
- 4. Registration to be completed by June 12, 2023.

- Auditions: 7:00 pm

- Auditions: 4:30 pm
- Check in: Begins at 4:00 pm

- Check in: Begins at 6:30 pm

- Notifications: Sent on May 19th via email
- *Dancers that are on high school drill and dance teams that do not intend to participate in the Conservatory program, do not need to attend these auditions to participate in the Conservatory Dance Team. Please contact the Conservatory manager, Kylee Miller at kyleemiller@utahdanceartists.com to arrange an audition.

CDT TEAM MEETING for the 2023-24 TEAM and PARENTS

*There are 2 mandatory meetings during the dance year.
- Conservatory dancers may register for fall classes during Program Registration between Monday, June 12 and Wednesday, June 14, 2023
- The fall schedule, including the days/times of required technical classes, will be distributed at the Mandatory Parent Information Meeting on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
- Dancers must add the following additional classes to their weekly schedule:
- Conservatory Team Dance Rehearsal - 1 hour *not included in the monthly program fee and will add one additional hour on the UDA tuition scale
- Collegiate Turns & Tricks Intensive - (serves as a third technique class each week for Conservatory dancers)*not included in the monthly program fee and will add an additional one hour on the UDA tuition scale.
- Collegiate Tricks Mat Class - *not included in the monthly program fee and will add one additional hour on the UDA tuition scale
- Rehearsal and Required Class Times: Mondays 7:00-10:00pm
- A one-time choreography fee will be charged at the time competition choreography is learned
- Fee split between all dancers who participate
- If the choreographer adds a prop to the routine, this cost will also be divided among all participating dancers
- UDA Competition Makeup and Earrings: $70-80 - Due November 1st *if new to program
- Shoes and Tights: Purchased on your own
